Baku Tango Festival 3rd Edition

29 November - 01 December

International Baku Tango Festival is coming back on 28 November – 1 December with its 3rd edition promoted and organized by Embassy of Argentina in Azerbaijan and United Cultures MMC, in collaboration with The Landmark Baku, Baku Metropolitan, Nizami Cinema Center and Nizami Restaurant and Lounge with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan, ADA University, Baku Choreographic Academy, Azerbaijan State University of Culture & Arts, NESS Company, IN Tango Baku, Tango On, El Club de Tango, Badi Kuba, R&N-project Dance School in Baku and Macrobiosis Tango School.

The aim of the festival is to promote and celebrate the culture and the music of Argentina, an invitation to discover artists, dancers, and rhythms.

Highly acclaimed international dancers will share their passion with you. Special guests of this 3rd edition will be Agustina  Piaggio &  Maksim  Gerasimo (Argentina/Russia), Dance Winners of the 2019 World and Europe Championships on Argentine, Julio Saavedra & Tekla Gogrichiani  (Argentina/Georgia), Jakof Shonsky & Mariam Rossa  (Georgia) and Cecilia Acosta & Levan Gomelauri (Georgia). They will fascinate you with the perfect elegance of their movements.

We are proud to announce the participation of Victor Hugo Vilena and Lautaro Tissera. Victor Hugo Vilena, bandoneon virtuoso trained in Argentina, is considered one of the best bandoneonists of his generation and Lautaro Tissera is one of the most prominent virtuosos guitarists in the contemporary Tango and Music Argentinian.

We are inviting you for our 3 days’ festival to watch, listen and dance!

In between the performances, the dancing floor is going to be open to the public for social tango dancing, so everyone will be able to feel the argentine Tango atmosphere.

Those who say that you can’t dance the Tango if you are not argentine, are mistaken. Tango was immigrant music, so it does not have a nationality, its only passport is feeling.

Tango is a lesson of adaptation, the expression of our intuitive understanding of the present moment, the music, our partner and the couples around.
